Ordering Marine Organisms

All orders are subject to the terms and conditions listed below;

ALL organisms are shipped for purposes of research or education and are not fit for human consumption.

We require the following information for all orders,

Purchase order number (Purchase Orders are accepted, but please attempt to pay Net 30 days since doing so will keep my prices down). Credit card payment is preferred to Purchase Orders since P.O. payments can be difficult to track and often arrive weeks overdue.

• Student packages of 15 to 20 sea urchins, either S. purpuratus or L. pictus -depending upon the fecundity of the local populations of sea urchins - including a little kelp, are $75.00. Urchins are tested for gametes (sample of the population) prior to shipping. Shipping is extra or use your own FedEx Account. Student packages should be purchased with credit card after delivery confirmation from FedEx. Please contact me for questions regarding the urchins or any other information regarding Sea Urchin Embryology.
• Minimum Purchase for specimens for Research is $100.00 not including shipping containers nor special handling costs such as liquid nitrogen, or similar treatment. For example, the shipping container for upwards of 50 S. purpuratus is $25.00.
• Marine specimens for education; representatives of various Phyla or Classes of organisms, or Plant Divisions. Some planktonic materials are available especially during the Summer and Fall.
• Scientific name of specimen and amount desired. Specimens such as sea urchins are often shipped with an extra 10% included, depending upon availability and space for shipping. A moderate amount of kelp is included at no charge along with herbivorous organisms when possible unless otherwise indicated.
• Preferred delivery date. There is no guarantee of delivery although we will make every effort to do so by the preferred date. However, weather often affects the carriers ability to deliver, in some areas, and shipments which arrive in a damaged or useless condition will be replaced, shipping costs not included. Please consider the weather if shipments are coast to coast, or to a location which experiences snow, thunder storms, or freezing rain. Shipments can often arrive 24 hrs late with a minimum of loss during the Winter if packed properly and with the possibility of delay in mind.
• All orders and shipments are due Net 30 days, except overseas shipments.
• Shipments made to overseas clients have terms tailored to the type of shipment made and the purchase size. All overseas shipments require notification of cancellation at least 10 days in advance and in writing.
